Are Carrera slot cars compatible with Scalextric?
Carrera Digital and Scalextric Digital are different systems with different control electronics, so a car set up for one does not simply work on the other. There is, however, one verified bridge: a third-party chip that the manufacturer lists for both systems.
The short answer
Out of the box, no — a Carrera Digital 132 car is built for the Carrera Digital 132 system and a Scalextric digital car for Scalextric Digital (SSD) or Scalextric ARC Pro. The two digital systems are not interchangeable.
The verified exception: Slot.it oXigen
Slot.it lists its oXigen Type C in-car chip for both Carrera Digital 132 and Scalextric SSD, with stated conditions. A car fitted with this chip can be configured for either system and can race alongside that system's own cars, with lane changing, car detection and lap counting supported.
Conditions that apply
On Scalextric SSD the chip must be configured for SSD operation, and the SSD power base cannot start or stop oXigen cars in a mixed race.
